About me
My name is Erica Martinez. I graduated from the University of Houston in 2004 with a bachelor's in Interdisciplinary Studies. After graduating I started teaching as a 1st grade bilingual teacher and after 7 years in first grade I was moved up to 3rd grade. During this time I saw a great need for the Educational Diagnostician field so I decided to go back to school and get my masters.
Educational Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is on that I think changes as I gain more experience. Well the core beliefs don't change just the way of achieving these core beliefs. I believe that as a teacher I am there to facilitate student learning as well as teaching them how to become responsible for their own learning. I also believe that as a teacher I must continue to educate myself so that I can prepare my students for the future.

reflectionCreating this TEASe goes with standard I because it was a way to inspire student learning. It worked as a "hook" to get them interested.
reflectionThe graphing lesson, rubric and treasure hunt, do what standard II discusses. These are all examples of authentic learning and also gives the students an opportunity to use "contemporary tools and resources".
reflectionIn the technology rich unit the students are exposed to a variety of technological programs or activities. This gives them an opportunity to experience and problem solve using these tools.
reflectionWith the copyright presentation the students can learn about the responsibility they have as digital age learners as well as the teacher as a teacher in the digital age.
